poker superstars: Hansen Handsome in PSIT 3 Win

He Advances to Quarterfinal Round

Last week, Freddy Deeb showed why he is considered one of the best players in the world when he defeated Barry Greenstein, Gus Hansen, and Erick Lindgren to move on at the Poker Superstars Invitational 3 tournament shown on FSN.

This week, those three players had to return to find out who would move on, and which two would go home. Hansen, who is feared because of the sometimes crazy luck that comes his way, used some of that luck to move on.

Early in the match, he faced a Greenstein raise with T-9 offsuit. Greenstein just won a few pots against Lindgren by being aggressive, and it was obvious Hansen thought Greenstein was stealing. He moved all in. Greenstein instantly called him with A-A.

A 10 on the flop improved Hansen’s chances, and another on the river sealed Greenstein’s fate. Although Lindgren pulled close to Hansen by doubling up with a set of nines, he couldn’t get over the hump and Hansen is the latest player to move on.

Next week, Todd Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and Carlos Mortensen play their first-round match to see who joins Deeb, Hansen, Card Player CEO Jeff Shulman, Johnny Chan, Antonio Esfandiari, and Mike Matusow.

PSIT 3 is aired every week on FSN. Check your local listings for air time and click here to view CardPlayer.com’s complete Internet coverage of the series.
